Does LED light therapy really work?LED light therapy can effectively target various skin concerns from ageing to acne and inflammation. Depending on the wave of light, the skin has different reactions, and therefore, different results can be achieved. For example, red light reduces fine lines and wrinkles as well as evens out skin tone.
How do LED light therapy masks work?
They send light waves deep into the skin to trigger natural intracellular reactions. The light waves penetrate the layers of the skin to help with cell turnover, which can, in turn, improve certain skin conditions, such as fine lines and skin dullness. LED light therapy requires at least 8 treatments to see the first results and regular maintenance treatments even after initial treatments.
How often should I use Ilumi Pro?
We recommend 3-5 times per week for at least 4-6 weeks. After the initial 6 weeks, you should continue routine maintenance treatments as desired based on lifestyle and skincare needs, as everyone’s skin is different. Consistency is key, so find what works best for you!
When can I expect to see results?
With consistent use, you should start to see results in 6 weeks. Be sure to take before and after pictures to compare your progress. Sometimes it can be hard to notice a difference until you compare your before and after photos.
Are LED light therapy masks safe?
LED light therapy masks are considered safe for pretty much all users, except for those who are photosensitive or have certain connective tissue conditions such as lupus. There is no direct skin contact, and the wavelengths of light do not cause burns, so these therapies are painless and safe for many patients. However, you should always read the user manual before use.
What does red light do?
Red light has powerful anti-ageing effects, amongst other benefits, such as strengthening cellular structure, reducing inflammation, minimising the appearance of pores, and accelerating repair. This wavelength is also ideal for stimulating the production of collagen and elastin for smoother, less wrinkled skin.
What does blue light do?
Blue light has an antibacterial effect, reducing oil production to prevent acne while also treating eczema and psoriasis. It also controls the bacteria that come with acne, which can help shrink pimples you already have.
Does the mask design matter?
Not all LED light therapy masks are the same, so you’ll want to look for a design that fits into your lifestyle. As we all want to make the most of our time, make sure to pick one that also fits your face nicely.
